are really kind of the core business of the port's maritime sector. if you take a look at it. we average, we carry on average 3.2 million ferry passengers annually these are commuter passengers moving between home and work expense and is we transport over 3 million excursion passengers annual low people looking at sites alcatraz and golden gate bridge. and then we see international cruise ships that alleged violentors to and from the port and crews members aboard those ships speak to our ferry services, you're, our ferry services operate chiefly out of the downtown ferry terminal behind the ferry building. they also operate out of peer 39, and 41 in the north. the gate b number downtown ferry terminal is for the north bound lanes such as value lay hough and gate e is for ala immediate a eoakland and island services blue and gold fleet does the operation and is the maintenance of all of these vessels and they will be describing that activity to you in a moment here . >> in addition, to that, we also have the ferry landing at china basin and on average that is home game ain ten dance

want to give a shout out to the port and i know monique is here and they're working hard with our team and continuing this ongoing dialogue and we will have more announcements to make. right now this is just the beginning of this project but it's a great beginning because usually when people talks about jobs and who gets to work on the project and i know supervisor avalos we have been through that and in the publicly funded projects they wait until the end to say whether they can do anything, but with people's help we are doing this at the front end of the warriors and their vision about why they came to san francisco at our invitation and what they're going to do with us in lifting up the economy, making sure people get those jobs and making sure that we do our part as well, so this 25% goal you will hear it because you ask anybody in any other part of the country whether new york, chicago, so forth you will find this to be one of the unique situations where private investors voluntarily want to do this with organized labor, with our partners in the community based organizations to s

is byron webb. i'm a development director with the port and i want to welcome to heron park. it was built in the wetlands in the bay view community adjacent to the indian basin. it is approximately 22-acres and we are here to celebrate the expansion of the wetlands and also the creation of the first bidirectional bike way in the city and in this neighborhood. with that brief introduction -- the reason that we're here i wanted to introduce the mayor and have him speak to these two important projects for this bay view community.
